I flew into San Francisco on Thursday morning and rented a car and drove to the Pebble Beach Golf Course. On the Thursday before the Concours d'Elegance there is a Tour d'Eleagance where the cars from the Concours are driven on a 60 mile cruise. They stop in Carmel for lunch and then arrive back at the Polo grounds where they park...or rather their transporters are parked and they are safely tucked inside for the night.
Friday was the Concorso Italiano and a huge amount ot never before seen(by my eyes) cars are on display. Photos of the Concorso
Saturday is the Mother of all Vintage car races at Laguna Seca. and then I drove to Santa Cruz for a Hot Rod show. Sunday back at Pebble Beach at 6am for their little event before the crowds show up.
At 11:30 I beat a hasty retreat back to the Races so I could see 2 fellow British Columbians, Ian Wood and Andrew Nelson race. I saw Dan Lipetz from Vancouver races his amazing Boss 302 to a 4th place on Saturday.
After the races I went for a cruise through Carmel and saw a black F-50 driving...is this possible? I could not get to my camera quick enough and I have no proof of this...I alos saw what looked to be a Dodge Durango SUV that was redone, not Bling Bling but with a Ferrari Grill Badges and Rims. Enzo is spinning!!!
